Ph.D. in electrical engineering at Pontificia Universidade Católica de Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) with a specialty in the area of signal processing, control and automation. He has experience in research projects in the oil, energy and business areas. He has led research centers in Brazil, dealing with oil exploration and exploitation projects, characterization of oil reservoirs using computational intelligence techniques. He also has experience in research projects in Rio de Janeiro in risk management in power purchase contracts. Hewas main researcher in the Laboratory of Applied Computational Intelligence (ICA) of the PUC-Rio, Researcher of the Group of Technology and Petroleum Engineering (GTEP) in Rio de Janeiro. Project consultant through the ICA of PUC-Rio for Petrobras S.A. in the area of reservoir management and for the electric power distributor of Rio de Janeiro Ligth S.A. He also worked as a project engineer in the Weapons and Electronics Service (SAE) of the Servicio Industrial de la Marina SIMA S.A.
