Resumen

La emigración de más de siete millones de venezolanos desde 2015, principalmente a países de Sudamérica, ha reposicionado la región en el mapa global de fenómenos y análisis migratorios. Hasta 2015, los gobiernos sudamericanos habían asumido posiciones notables sobre el tema de la migración internacional. Este capítulo ofrece una visión general de los desarrollos recientes en la gobernanza migratoria en Sudamérica tanto a nivel regional como nacional. En nuestro análisis, nos centraremos en el Acuerdo de Residencia del Mercado Común del Sur (MERCOSUR), la Decisión 878 de la Comunidad Andina (CAN), y discutiremos la liberalización de varias legislaciones nacionales y las respuestas a la llegada de venezolanos. También discutiremos el trabajo de varios foros regionales sobre gobernanza migratoria, incluida la Conferencia Sudamericana sobre Migración y el Proceso de Quito. La conclusión destaca el espacio adicional para la investigación
