Descripción

The purpose of this study is to investigate the adaptive capabilities of firms to improve their organizational resilience in the “new normal". Also, this study incorporates the role of digital innovation in business and the importance of innovation clusters in the study of organizational resilience. To fill these gaps in the literature, the study uses fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to decipher the data from one thousand, nine hundred and thirty-six Chinese firms drawn from the Enterprise Survey for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in China (ESIEC). The results show that, during a pandemic, firms that adapt by using organizational innovation and high human resource flexibility tend to achieve higher organizational resilience. Furthermore, we argue that firms respond by modes of resilience according to their capabilities for achieving a solid equilibrium with beneficial impacts. In addition, our findings suggest static and dynamic resilience become adaptive strategies that enable firms to achieve high organizational resilience.
