The Power of Categorization: Reflections on the Category ‘Venezuelans Displaced Abroad’

Sponsored by Nuffield College and the University of Oxford's Migration and Mobility Network, this conference seeks to explore the idea of “measuring” migration, to the extent that it is possible, using a variety of methods from interdisciplinary perspectives. We aim to explore the ethics and implications of what it means to track migratory flows, and we discuss when this might be appropriate and why these data are helpful/harmful.
