Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the Vasauro, written by Pedro de Oña in 1635, as an epic-specular poem supported by sayings and proverbs, whose function is to show how the familiar history and the ancestors of the viceroy Luis Jerónimo de Cabrera y Bobadilla, Cerda y Mendoza, Count of Chinchón, loyal servants of the Catholic Monarchs, led the way he acted and ruled. It was a mirror of princes in which the Count looked at himself as did all those with positions of importance in the vast Spanish empire. In this article, we will attempt to make entries in the book to demonstrate the stated objective
