Abstract
The objective of this chapter is to analyze how the environmental issue in the relationship with Latin America has been addressed by Chinese academic circles during the period 2018-2022. This five-year period corresponds not only to Xi Jinping's second presidency in China but also to a phase of maturity in Sino-Latin American relations following the end of the commodities boom (2000-2014), which initially served to boost the relationship. It is a period in which interest in the environmental implications of the relationship with the Asian country has progressively increased. Additionally, these implications have occasionally been employed from a critical perspective due to the worsening geopolitical tensions between Washington and Beijing.
