Abstract
All rights reserved. This article compiles the main political events of the year 2015, which represents the last stretch of Ollanta Humala’s government. In a context of economic slowdown that has been accompanied by social unrest, the weakened government had to face a series of cases, issues, and scandals that involved national state bodies and political figures in the upper echelons of power. Humala’s government shows similarities to that of his predecessors García and, especially, Toledo, in terms of weak institutions and the gap between the political system and society. These similarities notwithstanding, Humala’s administration shows nuances that differentiate its political and institutional trajectory.
