Abstract
This article offers a literature review on the relationship between cultural distance and entry modes in international markets. From the review, a strong tendency towards quantitative studies was identified, with the Hofstede dimensions and the Transaction Theory as the most applicable approaches. The results suggest a lack of consensus regarding the effects of a high cultural distance in the choice of entry mode, an aspect that some authors call as cultural paradox.
