Abstract
The aim of this work is to contribute to the efforts to understand the situation of mining in Peru, not only the current one but also that of the past. This research represents a long-term effort that includes the compilation and review of the published literature on mining in Peru in the last five decades. With this, this work seeks to identify the main findings, lessons and gaps in the literature, as well as to propose a research agenda with the hope of serving as a reference for researchers and students of social sciences –and possibly from other disciplinary areas–, as well as of input for better public policies.
