The article studies the development of a public hotel business in Peru: EnturPerú. This work analyzes the main management strategies used by this company during its existence and contrast them with the political motive, employed in the 90s, for its liquidation. The study helps to understand the performance of a tourism public business in Latin America, the importance that the political factor had in it, and the complexity of the privatization process that took place during the end of the 20th century.
