Abstract

In this special issue, we welcome eight of the papers that received awards at the Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administraci_on (CLADEA) assemblies in 2017 (meeting in San Bernardino, California) and 2018 (meeting in San Jos_e, Costa Rica). The assemblies had classified the papers into one of the following 10 categories: Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Marketing, Economics, Finance and Accounting, Leadership and Human Capital, Management and Strategy, Innovation, Ethics and Socio-environmental Responsibility, Cases, Management Schools and Operations and Information Technology. The published papers come from 14 universities in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, France,
Mexico and Peru and have undergone a strict review and improvement process. The creation of new knowledge through a rigorous process of scientific research in different disciplines is one of the main challenges facing researchers in the universities of our region. The capacity to generate scientific research and publications, on the one hand, emphasises the academic excellence of universities and, on the other, allows individuals, industries and countries to transform abstract theories into practical learning that provides. solutions and new products for a local context. This undoubtedly drives innovation, the development of human capital, productivity, well-being and the quality of life of people at local and regional levels, contributing to the formation and strengthening of a high quality research culture in our region.
We present a synthesis of each of the articles published, followed by an analysis of the experience of the assemblies and trends in Latin American (LATAM) publications on management in the following paragraphs.
