Abstract

The study analyzes, in the context of the industrialization and diversification programs in Latin America and Peru during the 1970s, the Peruvian State policy of promotion for tourism and in particular, the implementation of a fund for the conversion of the agrarian debt -consequence of the agrarian reform that was taking place- into hotel investment projects.Through the study of reports from the local bank for industrial development and other materials, the results of the policy are shown and its impact on the tourism sector is reviewed. This work seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the capital reorientation planned policies and the surge of hotel business groups.
