Abstract

Today, society, family and companies are the three corners of a system where the workers are located in the center. Progress in their personal and professional development is determined by how these elements interact. In this article, we try to analyze the causes of conflicts in the interplay between work and personal life of the worker and the consequences that result from the roles they assume in both contexts. As an example, we collect also a comprehensive listing of reconciliation practices that could be used by companies and analyze what are the most used. Likewise we reflect on why some practices are used more than others, which mainly is due to: personal characteristics of workers, the culture of each company's specific support and socio-cultural context of the country-region that favors the use of such practices.
