She has a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics (MSc.) from the University of Illinois (United States) and a Licentiate (professional license) in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico. She has done research for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). She is a former Vice Minister of Strategic Development of Natural Resources of the Ministry of the Environment. She has been a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Andean Community of Nations (CAN), the United Nations Program for the Environment (UNEP), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-HABITAT), among others. Currently, she is a member of the Pronaturaleza Board of Directors.
