Professional profile
Professor of the Department of Economics and researcher of the Universidad del Pacífico Research Center. He is a PhD and Master of Science in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota (United States). He has a Licenciatura (professional license) and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico. He completed a postdoctoral stay at the Economic Growth Center of Yale University. He has over 20 years’ experience in economic research and in the design of governance arrangements for the best performance of health and social protection systems. He has served as a senior economist and manager of investment and research projects at the World Bank. As an international expert in health economics, he led and contributed to loan operations and conducted technical assistance and health research studies in more than 15 countries in South Asia, Latin America, Europe, Central Asia, and African regions. He has teaching experience in the Economics undergraduate program and in the Graduate School of Universidad del Pacífico. Visiting professor at the Universidad Publica de Navarra, Universidad de Zaragoza, University College London, Tulane University and Georgetown University. He has participated as a speaker at international conferences and directed research in health economics and poverty alleviation strategies in Peru commissioned by PAHO, UNICEF, IDB, JICA and USAID.
