Professional profile
Full-time Professor in the Department of Finance and Researcher at Universidad del Pacífico Research Center. He holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of California Los Angeles UCLA, a master's degree in Applied Economics from Universidad Católica de Chile and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico. He served as an Advisor to the World Bank Board of Directors conducting economic analysis for a wide range of World Bank group projects and policies, including economic and financial analysis. Before joining the World Bank, he was a Researcher at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Washington D.C. for ten years where he conducted research on various economic development issues. In addition, before working at IFPRI, he worked as Associate Researcher at the Group for Analysis for Development (GRADE) in Lima Peru and participated in various research projects under the auspices of multiple international organizations. He was awarded in the Marketplace on Innovative Financial Solutions for Development for his innovative proposals on agricultural insurance and has a large number of publications both in academic journals, books, policy documents and short notes.
