He has been Visiting Professor at IE Business School (Spain), University of St Gallen (Switzerland), and Radboud University (Netherlands). Ph.D. in Operations Research, London School of Economics and Political Science; M.Sc. in Operations Research, Lancaster University; MBA, Universidad del Pacífico; Civil Engineer, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. A Decision analysis expert with over 20 years' experience as a consultant and researcher for organizations such as Bombardier, Whitbread, Network Rail, the World Health Organization, and the UK Departments of Defense and Environment, and Food and Rural Affairs, where he has directed projects of strategic planning, multi-organizational collaboration and biosafety analysis. His research program examines how human behavior affects, or is affected by, the use of decision tools and processes. His Managing Biosecurity Threats project received the 2017 Loughborough University Enterprise Award in the 'Impact from Research' category, and his research papers appear regularly published in prestigious academic journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Group Decision and Negotiation, and Risk Analysis.
