Professional profile

Mr. Huanco is a full professor in the Academic Department of Law and a vice dean of the Faculty of Law. He holds a Magister in Real Estate Consultancy from the Universitat de Barcelona (Spain) as well as a Licentiate and Bachelors in Law from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He has also completed a research stay at ESADE Law School – Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona).
In the world of business, Mr. Huanco served as senior associate in the Civil and Real Estate Area of Estudio Echecopar associated with Baker & McKenzie International, at CMS Grau, and in the Real Estate and Arbitration departments at Baker & Mckenzie Barcelona (Spain). He was also a partner at Estudio Huanco Abogados. At present Mr. Huanco serves as an arbitrator of law in disputes related to public and private contracts. To date has has participated in working groups to propose improvements to Peru's Civil Code, the Horizontal Property Law, and the National Building Regulations overseen by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation.
Mr. Huanco's professional memberships include the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators – CIArb (London), the Commission for the Study of Fashion and Retail Law of the Lima Bar Association, and the Peruvian Association of Real Estate Law (APDI), of which he is a founder and the current president. His written output include legal articles published in specialized journals as well as collective works. Mr. Huanco is also a frequent participant in national and international conferences.
