Professional profile

Full Professor in the Academic Department of Economics and Researcher at the Research Centre of Universidad del Pacífico. She holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University (United States) and has completed specialized training in environmental issues at international institutions such as the Harvard Institute for International Development, INCAE, the World Bank Institute, and Wageningen University.

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES) and previously served as Director of the School of Public Management and Director of the Research Center at the same university. She is currently a full professor, teaching Intermediate and Advanced Microeconomics and Natural Resource and Environmental Economics, as well as other courses in the Graduate School. She has conducted extensive research on production economics, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture, climate change, and circular economy for national and international organizations. In addition, she has significant experience in capacity building for local governments and social organizations in the field of comprehensive environmental assessments, both in Peru and other Andean countries.

In public administration, she served as Minister of the Environment (2016–2018) and Vice Minister of Fisheries at the Ministry of Production (2009–2010). She has also worked as an Advisor to the Ministerial Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Furthermore, she has served on several boards of directors and technical advisory committees for public sector institutions, including the Ministry of the Environment, COFIDE, SENACE, and INDECOPI. She currently serves as the academic representative in the Multi-Stakeholder Open Government Forum of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM).
