Professional profile

Full Professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. and a M.A. in Government from Harvard University, and a BA. in Political Science from the University of Chicago. She has served as a Professor of courses on Political Science and Governance, and on the social and political reality of Peru and the United States. She is currently a member of the Regional Board of Directors of the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University. She is also a founding member of Grupo Sofia: Professional Women in Social Sciences. She has been Vice President for Research at Universidad del Pacífico. She has also held the position of Director of the Universidad del Pacífico Research Center (CIUP) and Chair of the Department of Social and Political Sciences. She has also been president of the Board of Directors of the Consortium for Social Economic Research (CIES), and has held the William Henry Bloomberg Chair at Harvard University, where she was also director of the Program in Philanthropy, Civil Society and Social Change (PACSA). She has been a program officer for the Ford Foundation and a consultant for various other foundations and international cooperation agencies. She has also been a member of the National Commission of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), as a representative of the university sector.
