Professional profile

Dr. Pardo Grau is a Full Professor in the Academic Department of Humanities and a member of the Research Center at the Universidad del Pacífico. She holds a PhD by publication in Museology from the Sainsbury Research Unit at the University of East Anglia (United Kingdom); an MA in Museum Studies from the Institute of Archaeology, University College, University of London; and a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. 

In addition to her teaching and research interests, Dr. Pardo has an pursued an extensive career in managing and curating museums operated by a range of institutions in Peru, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. She has been curator and deputy director of the Museum of Art in Lima (MALI), the project curator for Peru at the British Museum in London, and the curator of the exhibition "Peru: A journey in time" at the same institution. 

Dr. Pardo is currently chief curator of the Collections Formation Committee and a Member of the MALI Academic Committee. Previously, she taught undergraduate and master's-level subjects related to Andean archaeology and museology at other institutions. At the Universidad del Pacífico, she works as a professor on the Digital Humanities program, leading courses related to pre-Hispanic Peru, Archaeology, Museums and New Technologies, Digital Content Curatorship, and Digital Humanities Workshops.

Areas of specialization: Andean archaeology and pre-Hispanic art;  museum management and curatorship; history of archaeology and formation of collections; new technologies applied to the study, preservation, and dissemination of cultural heritage.
