Professional profile
Full Professor in the Department of Economics at Universidad del Pacífico and Associate Researcher at CIUP. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles (United States), a Master’s degree in Economics from Universidad del CEMA (Argentina) and a Licentiate (professional license) in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico. He has extensive experience in senior management and management of research teams. As a consultant, he has worked with multilateral organizations, the public sector, and the private sector on a wide range of topics such as pension systems, fiscal systems, tax systems, tariff systems, business innovation, competition in the financial system, and government management. On the other hand, he has been a columnist for El Comercio for ten years. Morón is president of the Peruvian Association of Insurance Companies (APESEG). He has been Vice Minister of Economy in the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru, Director of Economic Studies in the Latin American Reserve Fund (FLAR), President of the Board of Directors of the Consortium for Economic and Social Research (CIES) and director of the Universidad del Pacífico Research Center. Likewise, and in parallel, he has undertaken consultancies for institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank, the Peruvian Business Council (PBC), the International Budget Partnership (IBP), the Center for Global Development (CGD), among other institutions.
